Carpet cleaning

Principle:

A powder containing solvents and cleaning agents is brushed—manually or mechanically—into the carpet fibres.

The powder absorbs and lifts the soiling.

Once dry, it is vacuumed up along with the captured dirt.

Advantages:

Low-risk dry-cleaning method

Easy and quick to perform

Virtually no drying time

You can walk on the carpet immediately

Disadvantages:

No deep action

A slight powder residue may remain

Principle:

A compressor generates foam, which is worked into the carpet.

The foam loosens the soiling and captures it.

After crystallisation (drying), the soiling is vacuumed away along with the foam.

Advantages:

Can be applied locally or across the entire area

Low risk of shrinkage or colour fading

Short drying time

Good method for refreshing carpets

Disadvantages:

Limited depth of cleaning

Invisible residues may remain on the carpet

Principle:

The cleaning solution is applied to the carpet.

After a relatively short dwell time, the loosened soiling is removed using a single-disc machine fitted with a cotton bonnet pad.

Advantages:

Fast process with short drying time

Can be used locally on a specific stain

No risk of shrinkage

Disadvantages:

More superficial cleaning

Due to the mechanical action, this technique is not suitable for all carpets (e.g. needle-punched)

Principle:

The rotating motion of the brushes turns the product into foam.

The brushes’ mechanical action and the foam’s chemical action loosen the soiling, which is then captured by the foam.

This solution is vacuumed away, and any remaining product—once dry—is vacuumed later with a brush vacuum.

Advantages:

Deep cleaning

Very high stain and soil extraction performance

Disadvantages:

Not suitable for carpets at risk of colour fading

Not suitable for carpets glued with water-soluble adhesive, or not fully glued

Requires a long drying time

Principle:

Water mixed with a cleaning solution is injected into the carpet and immediately re-extracted, along with the soiling loosened by this action.

Advantages:

Deep cleaning and rinsing

No product residue left in the carpet, so it re-soils more slowly

Minimal mechanical action: little carpet wear

Can be applied locally

Disadvantages:

Not suitable for heavy soiling: short dwell time and minimal mechanical action

Wet-cleaning risks: shrinkage, colour fading
